One of the region's oldest Land Trusts, The Open Space Council for the St. Louis Region works to identify areas that can be acquired and set aside for public use, discouraging improper land use and detrimental development. We raise and provide funds for new open space projects, offering land owners an alternative to development. The Open Space Council is a member of the Land Trust Alliance and has adopted the "Land Trust Standards and Practices". OSC uses a variety of tools and works with a diverse number of public and private organizations to conserve open space.
