Open Space Council STL

The Open Space Council joined with numerous other partnering organizations, businesses and interested individuals to form the Meramec River Tributary Alliance in order to plan and host a Summit to celebrate past successes and to collaboratively create a vision for the future of the Meramec River and its tributaries.

The Meramec River Basin Summit brought together individuals and organizations, both public and private, which have played a role in the past and continue to contribute to the restoration, conservation, water quality protection, and outdoor recreation benefits found throughout the basin. By highlighting the renaissance of the Meramec River and its future value to the region and the state of Missouri, the summit will offer a greater appreciation for the Meramec River and its tributaries as valued agricultural, conservation and outdoor recreation resources. The collaborative communication, dialogue and education growing out of the summit may further inspire the public to embrace this river and have a greater appreciation for the many cultural and natural benefits found in basin.
